Earlier this week, I was informed by one of my peers at work that one of my employees decided not to come to work because according to a contract, the day was listed as a holiday (Lincoln's birthday). I noticed that no one else decided to skip work, she was the only one. At first, I was a bit dismayed and then angry over the decision she made which was clearly not in compliance with company directives for that day. A day later, I was still finding myself festering over the circumstances that had occurred the day before. Being frustrated with myself, I wondered how long it would be before I stopped obsessing over something that I had no control over. What had happened could not be reversed.
I was fortunate to come across a phrase that could be used as a tool for smoothing things over within myself and to put things in proper perspective. After all, why cry over spilt milk as the saying goes. The phrase "I choose peace rather than this", is something I picked up from the personal development program I am currently studying. How nice it is to have something available that can help you be in charge of any potentially confrontational and stressful situation that comes your way. Choose peace and reap the rewards and benefits. Try it for yourself and see what you think!
This blog is dedicated to the premise that if we look for things to be happy about, we will enjoy life more. With all the stuff in daily living that we get faced with, trying to find enjoyment in the day can be challenging. It is my hope that by sharing occasional experiences and commentary with you the reader, you may (if needed) achieve a better sense of finding enjoyment in your day and life as well!
